Digital asset specifications

When requesting graphics from Creative Services or an agency, follow the specifications below to ensure that assets are created to spec and display correctly on the responsive pages.

Graphic standards

Asset naming converntions are important to follow so that they are findable in the DAM in the future. If an asset is added to the DAM that cannot be found using key words later, it could be essentially lost forever in the DAM.

Use descriptive file names

Asset names should describe the asset itself so that if someone later searches for the asset, they can find it using key words in the file name. For example,  an icon of a birthday cake would be named like this: icon-birthday-cake.svg. If someone sees the image on the site and it is a birthday cake icon, they will go into the DAM and search for words like "birthday" and "cake" and "icon", the file with the name "icon-birthday-cake.svg" will display in the search results.

Use dashes between words

Asset names should have dashes between words. Do not string numerous words together. For example, "iconbirthdaycake.svg" will never be found if someone uses the word "birthday" or "cake" to search for it. It would only be found if someone searched using "iconbirthdaycake" which would be impossible to guess as a search term.

Assets used on CasinosBC.com must be web optimized before used. Large files can negatively affect page load, especially on mobile devices. This should be avoided as it is an extremely bad player experience.

SP (Service provider) pages
